There are many occasions when we take the name Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh all together. I asked myself why are they called the power of trinity. We also refer to them as one.

Brahma is known as the  Creator and Generator
Vishnu is known as the Protector and Operator
Shiva is known as the Destroyer
All three make the power of one GOD.

I tried to look at it from a different perspective.

I would like to understand, how are they referred to as the form of God.

I tried to find out the literal meaning of Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh.

Let’s look only at the Names :

Brahma, the creator:

We also refer the universe as the Brahmaand,

Vishnu, the sustainer or the protector:

We also know the lord Vishnu as All pervasive, but there is a hindi word which is Similar to Vishnu, which is the word Vishwa.

Vishwa literally translated means All or Entire.

Mahesh or Lord Shiva, the destroyer:

Mahesh literally means the ruler.

If we put the literal translation of Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh together, it becomes:

The universe, entire or all, the ruler. Which means:
The ruler of the entire universe or the ruler of all the universe.

Well let us look at another perspective:

Brahma, still considered as the universe, which we call the Brahmaand!

Vishnu is the sustainer and Mahesh literally translated as the ruler.

Let’s consider the universe as a living being.

What really sustains our body? It’s the soul or the energy.

Vishnu can be regarded as the soul of the universe.

Mahesh being the ruler.

All three together becomes:

Universe, Soul or Energy, Ruler

I can interpret it like:

The ruler and the soul of the universe

OR

The ruler of the soul and the universe

OR

The ruler of the soul of the universe

Well, I am not saying that these are the exact meanings, but I interpreted it in this way to relate God with Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh.

GOD BLESS ALL
